Cookies are small text files that are sent to or accessed from your web browser or your computer's hard drive. A cookie typically contains the name of the domain (internet location) from which the cookie originated, the 'lifetime' of the cookie (i.e., when it expires) and a randomly generated unique number or similar identifier. A cookie also may contain information about your computer, such as user settings, browsing history and activities conducted while using www.opscycle.com ("Website") and related Opscycle websites ('Sites').

Cookies set by Opscycle and its affiliates (together, 'Opscycle') are called 'first party cookies'. Cookies set by other parties are called 'third-party cookies'. Third- party cookies enable Opscycle to provide third-party features or functionality on or through the Sites (such as interactive content and analytics). Third-party cookies recognize your browser when it visits the Sites and also when it visits certain other websites and services.

Cookies also are typically categorized as 'session' cookies or 'persistent' cookies. Session cookies are erased when you close your web browser. For example, a session cookie tracks how you navigate through the Sites so that you do not need to re-enter the same information during the same visit to the Sites. Persistent cookies store your preferences and other information for your current and future visits – they are still stored in your browser even if you close it. For example, Opscycle may use persistent cookies to record your choice of language and country.

The specific duration of each persistent cookie depends on its purpose and provider, and no cookie is retained longer than necessary to fulfill its defined function.

Opscycle also uses other types of data collection technology, such as web beacons (also called pixel tags or clear GIFs). A web beacon is a piece of computer code that enables Opscycle to monitor user activity and website traffic.

  1. How Opscycle Uses Data Collection Technology

Data collection technology helps Opscycle improve your experience with the Sites by, for example, storing your website language preferences, so you do not have to select it each time you use the Sites, compiling statistics about use of the Sites, helping Opscycle analyze technical and navigational information about the Sites, and detecting and preventing fraud.

Opscycle processes personal data based on applicable legal grounds, including your explicit consent (for analytics and advertising technologies), the necessity to perform a contract (e.g., remembering login data), and legitimate interests (e.g., ensuring security and functionality of the Sites).

Opscycle uses the following:

Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are necessary for the Sites to function and cannot be switched off in Opscycle’s systems. Opscycle usually sets strictly necessary cookies in response to your actions that amount to a request for services, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in, or filling in forms. You can set your browser to block or alert you about these cookies, but then some parts of the Sites will not work.

Functionality Cookies

These cookies enable the Sites to provide enhanced functionality and personalization. Opscycle sets some functionality cookies, while third party providers whose services Opscycle added to the Sites set the rest of these cookies. If you do not allow functionality cookies, then services relying on functionality cookies may not function properly.

Performance Cookies

These cookies allow Opscycle to count visits and traffic sources in order to measure and improve the performance of the Sites. Performance cookies help Opscycle gauge the relative popularity of various pages on the Sites as well as see how visitors move around the Sites. Opscycle aggregates all information these cookies collect, making it anonymous as a result. If you do not allow performance cookies, Opscycle will not know when you have visited the Sites, will not be able to monitor its performance, and as a result – Opscycle will not be able to improve the Sites and make it more comfortable for use.

Targeting Cookies and Other Data Collection Technology

Third-Party Processors and Technology Partners

Opscycle uses carefully selected third-party vendors for limited processing of personal data. These include:

  • Google LLC – analytics, tag management, advertising
  • Meta Platforms Inc. – retargeting and conversion tracking
  • Cloudflare Inc. – CDN and web security services
  • HubSpot Inc. – marketing automation

All data processors are bound by data protection agreements and process personal data only on Opscycle’s behalf, following strict legal obligations.

Depending on the parts of the Sites that you visit, Opscycle’s advertising partners may set these cookies and other data collection technology. Opscycle’s advertising partners may use targeting cookies and other data collection technology to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant adverts on the Opscycle Sites and other sites. They use these cookies and other data collection technology to uniquely identify your browser and internet device, which under certain privacy laws may amount to processing of personal data. If you do not allow targeting cookies and other data collection technology, you will experience fewer targeted advertisements on the Opscycle Sites and other sites.

We might also use ad platform pixels to track interactions on our Sites and to measure ad performance across other sites, and optimize marketing campaigns.

Analytics about the use of the Sites

In addition to the data collection technology, Opscycle also uses “cookieless” analytics, like Google Analytics.

This means that we collect anonymous usage data without cookies to analyze interactions such as page visits, clicks, and referrers to help us improve user experience while respecting privacy.

To ensure transparency, Opscycle provides the following examples of cookies used on the Sites:

2. Cookie and Data Collection Technology Management

Most browsers allow viewing, managing, deleting or blocking cookies. Please be aware that if you delete or block cookies directly in your browser then some of your preferences can be lost, as well as some functionality may no longer be available, including the ability to opt-out and manage cookies via the Privacy Preference Center as this function itself uses cookie for keeping your preferences.

Opscycle does apply Google Consent Mode, Advanced tier. Consent mode communicates users’ cookie or app identifier consent status to Google. Tags adjust their behavior and respect users’ choices.
Consent mode receives users' consent choices from Opscycle Cookies Consent Management Platform and dynamically adapts the behavior of Analytics, Ads, and third-party tags that create or read cookies.
For more information on Google Consent mode, please visit Google’s dedicated page:

Opscycle uses a Consent Management Platform (CMP) that presents users with a cookie banner during their first visit. Through this banner, users can give or deny consent for each cookie category. These preferences are stored and can be modified at any time via the Privacy Preferences Center.

Do Not Track Signals

Some web browsers (including Safari, Microsoft Edge, Firefox, and Chrome) incorporate a "Do Not Track" (DNT) or similar feature that signals to websites that a user does not want to have his or her online activity and behavior tracked. If a website that responds to a particular DNT signal receives the DNT signal, the browser can block that website from collecting certain personal information about the browser’s user. Not all browsers offer a DNT option, and DNT signals are not yet uniform. For this reason, many website operators, including Opscycle, do not respond to DNT signals universally or if not required by law.

Opscycle honors the Global Privacy Control (GPC) and similar technology (e.g., Universal Opt-Out Mechanisms), as required by the U.S. State Privacy Laws.

Opscycle relies on third-party providers for obtaining geo-IP location information about its users, including when enabling or disabling cookies and / or honoring GPC signals.

If at any time you believe that Opscycle has not adhered to its specific privacy obligations, please contact us at info@opscycle.com. We will use good faith efforts to determine and correct the problem.
